I am blessed

At this time of year I spend more time being thankful for my family and friends. I have received another blessing. My first born child has given birth to my first grandchild. I can't wait to hold Jacob and introduce myself.

Belated Birthday

Today Tracy and I made chicken and dumplings and a chocolate cake for dad. I thought it would be more fun to wait until Tracy, Alex and Will were home to celebrate dad's birthday.

Yesterday we set up our tree and put on the lights and tinsel. The ornaments are the last thing to be put up on the tree.

I can't get my mind off of Michelle and Adam today. I know they are excited and anxious waiting to meet the daughter or son.

December

Tomorrow were going to focus on setting up our Christmas tree and decorating the inside of the house.

We've had our early Christmas last night with Patricia and Tripp before they head off with Tripp's parents and his brother to celebrate the holidays with Tripp's grandparents and numerous relatives.

Will is going to be splitting his time between our house and house sitting Price's house.

Tracy and Alex have a 16 hour drive a head of them.

I am counting the hours until Monday when we receive the call about our first grandchild. I'm waiting for the next chapter of my life to begin being a grandma.

School fun

Were doing Secret Santa at school. The other teachers and I know its a good sign when we see the assistant director walking toward our rooms to hand out are gifts. She loves telling us she knows who our Secret Santa's are. Lets see she arraigned this so she would know who every one's Secret Santa is. :)

Fun

Bill and I are having so much fun finding just the right Christmas gifts for our family. Tomorrow we'll barricade ourselves in the master bedroom and start wrapping our purchases.

Saturday

Patricia, Bill and I are heading off to the Plano Christmas parade. Since its a lovely 30 degrees Bill made up some hot cocoa to keep us from freezing with sitting for two hours.

Sunday

Today Will is baking Hershey Kiss cookies and rice krispie cookies. I'm working on Chex mix and addressing our Christmas card envelopes.

Saturday, November 29, 2008

Goodies

Will and I spent the afternoon in the kitchen baking and making edibles. Will focused on making Sugar cookies and M&M's cookies. I made Puppy chow, peppermint bark and chocolate, butterscotch and vanilla coated pretzels.

The weather wasn't right for making fudge.

Saturday

Its that time of year to start making homemade goodies. Bill and I went to the grocery store yesterday to buy all the ingredients to make fudge, cookies, chex mix, puppy chow, etc.

Happy Turkey day

We've watched the parades and the dog show. Its now time to drive across town to Price's house to feast with friends and family.

Thanksgiving Eve

Today was a short day at school. Numerous teachers were asked to go home early from the lack of children today. I got four hours of work in.

Tonight Will, Tripp, Patricia, Bill and I are going to the art institute for a open house. I am looking forward to seeing where Patrcia's goes to classes five days a week.

I hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving. We will be joining Tripp's family tomorrow.

Fun fact

I had to have my fingerprints done to work at the school. Dad escorted me to a fingerprints facility in Dallas. The lady tried to take images of my fingerprints numerous times to no avail. She asked if I had ever been a nurse. I had no fingerprints. From years of changing diapers on my four children and the children in day cares and my fingerprints have worn off.

Balancing act

I have to practice saying hi welcome to Bath and Bodyworks how can I help you. :) I start working on Saturday night.

Its kind of like being a kid in a candy store trying out all the different fragrances. It was fun being in the store after hours for training last night.

I'll have to make sure not to allow the part time job to affect the full time job. If I look tired while at school and other teachers notice I will be asked to give up my part time job. I don't foresee that happening.

Saturday, November 15, 2008

Keeping busy

Now that I made it through my first week at Willow Bend. I'm ready for training to work part time at Bath and Bodywork's.

As of yesterday I was assigned to work in an out of control toddler room. The executive director said it was my forte. At felt board story time I had 13 of the 15 toddlers actually sitting down and participating. Not too bad for my first day with this group. :)

I won't have to to write lesson plans or worry about curriculum at this school. There is a teacher that spends her time taking care of that for all the teachers. The toddlers are learning about dinosaurs.

Friday, November 14, 2008

Friday night

Dad and I had a nice dinner with Judy and Rich. Judy had told me about Willow Bend hiring. I told her if I got hired we would take them out to eat.

Dad and I decided to take them Mimi's, there is something everyone would like on the menu.

Wednesday

I have a new job.

I am now working full time at Willow Bend Learning Center in the youngest infant room. There are three infant rooms. The learning center accepts babies starting at 6 weeks old.

I now spend my day with twin preemie brothers named Elijah and Daniel along Ayden, Aiden, Vincent, Jake, Jackson, Matthew and Little Miss Emerson.

Decisions

I have been offered three different jobs. I have a real quandary.

I'm going to need to spend a lot of my weekend praying for an answer.

Thursday, November 6, 2008

Yeah

I have a new job. I will start working on Monday morning at Bath and Bodyworks.

Now I have to go to Target and buy black pants, a black shirt and comfortable shoes.

Thursday

I'm waiting for the telephone to ring. I was one of ten ladies that had a job interview at Bath and Bodyworks yesterday. We were spoken to as a group and then sent to walk around the store to find our favorite scent and be ready to tell the manager and assistant manager why we liked that scent during our one on one interview.

The store manager and her assistant told us that they had over 75 ladies fill out job applications and then ten of us were the cream of the crop. That's a nice group to be a part of.

I really hope I get called back. Keep your fingers crossed.

Wednesday, November 5, 2008

Uh oh

I made a mistake I am not going to get discounts at Old Navy. If hired at Bath and Bodyworks I will get discounts at Limited stores.

Wednesday

I have a job interview this afternoon at Bath and Bodyworks. Keep your fingers crossed and say a prayer.

If I get hired I will have discounts at Bath and Bodyworks of course as well as Old Navy, Victoria's Secret and Banana Republic.

NOVEMBER 4TH

Who will be our next president? I hope everyone takes time out of their day to vote and make their opinions heard.

Its too bad that Tracy and Uncle Steve don't live closer to each other. They could have spent their day off together. Uncle Steve got up early and voted and is spending the day fishing.

Back Home

Tracy, Patricia and I had a wonderful weekend in Arizona with Michelle, Adam and Baby Cain. I wish the time didn't fly by so quickly.

I can hardly put into words how it felt to feel my first grandchild moving around in Michelle's belly. The baby put on a pretty nice show on Saturday night while Michelle rested on the sofa as well as Sunday morning at church when Michelle sang.

I wish Arizona wasn't so far away.

Happy Halloween

I hope there aren't any tricks on the flight to Arizona today just treats being with family.

Wednesday, October 29, 2008

I'm counting the days until I get to be with Michelle, Adam, Tracy and Patricia.

I hope Bill doens't eat too much Halloween candy while he's handing it out. :)

Trip to the Vet

I am happy to announce that Moseley has lost weight. A whopping three ounces. Cinder has lost a pound.

The vet wants dad and I to take the cats for rides in the cars more so they don't always think there going to see him. I think its more work than its worth. Cats with claws aren't fun to have sitting on your lap.

I call dibs at sleeping in half the bed in the guest bedroom at Michelle and Adam's house. :)

I am counting the days until I get to be with all three of my daughters.

Back Home

Our week in Minnesota went by too fast. We went from beautiful 70 degree days and drove back into to 90 degrees today.

Now we'll try to get back to life as normal as possible.

Here fishy fishy

When dad and I went fishing yesterday it brought back memories of when there were too many fish being caught at the same time. Dad and I caught two pound bass at the same exact time. Dad and I took turns netting each other bass and getting them in the boat. After taking pictures of our catch we released the bass in hopes that they'll be bigger next year.

Fishing without a net

We tried our luck in the little lake again today and discovered we'd forgotten the landing net. Forgetting the net is the best way to catch Northern Pike--the first for this year. Bill got it in the boat with one quick grab of the line, it shook off the hook and started flopping it's way toward the front of the boat, where I was seated. While I had my feet up on the center seat, I picked it up by it's tail in a fish towel and threw it back to Bill.

New carpet day

Its so much fun at our house with having all the belongings from the front three bedrooms in the dining room and living room. I'm really impressed the workmen arrived at 10:30 and by 12:00 all three bedrooms are completed.

Getter better all the time

I feel like I have been thrown into a whirlwind lately.

Tonight along with other members of our Sunday school class we watched a movie titled "Facing the Giants." It reminded me that my life is in God's hands and I need to let go of my fears. They have been holding me back from going out in public and driving my car. Those days are behind me.

I still don't know what the future holds for me as far as being employed. I have taken a leave of absence from the daycare because its not where I want to be at this time of my life. There is something bigger and better out there for me.

Changes

Our front door has been revolving. Tracy, Alex, Will, Patricia and Tripp have been home.

Tracy is moving her bedroom furniture to her new unfurnished apartment in South Carolina and Patricia moved back home. Good bye OU hello culinary school.

It was great spending a week with Michelle and Adam in Minnesota. I just wish grandma could have respected our wishes and allowed us some down time.

Tuesday

Today was a interesting day. I've sick since last week and wasn't getting better.

I had a frustrating telephone call from the director at the school that caused me to have a anxiety attack and that caused me to have a fun ride in an ambulance. I had an EKG done as well as x-rays. Nothing abnormal was found. I know that's hard to believe. Bill was my focal point when the nurse was trying to get a needle in my arm for blood tests. The room got extremely hot and I thought I was going to toss my cookies.

After spending 2 1/2 hours at the emergency room a doctor shared with me that a month ago I was given medicine for a bladder infection instead of a sinus infection. Bill has pointed out to the doctor a month ago that I had a sinus infection not a bladder infection and the doctor said it would help both problems!

The last time I rode in an ambulance was 22 years ago. I was holding my beautiful daughter Tracy. It was boring without her today.

Saturday

Three days and counting of being sick with the flu. I am tired of being exposed to disease's at school. I wish parents would keep their sick toddlers home instead of expecting us to deal with them!

Friday, July 18, 2008

Friday

Today is my second day to be home sick. I'm not sure if I am dealing with the flu or missing my children. I wish today was next Friday so I could get out of here.

Dealing with toddlers

This week at school has been interesting. A little girl named Jordan jumped off the steps on the playground and chipped a front tooth. In a couple of weeks Jordan will have to have IV sedation to have a root canal done at the young age of two years old.

Today another another little girl named Morgan was standing next to a coworker and the coworker noticed something moving on Morgan's head. Yes it was head lice. The other remaining 26 toddlers and 3 teachers had their heads checked. All bedding and clothing was packed into garbage bags to make it easier for the parents to take home for laundering. Then began the washing of any cloth toys, madly cleaning the room and last but not least bug bombing the room at the end of the day so the rest of us can stay head lice free.

Hopefully the parents have taken care of head lice in Morgan's head before they try to bring her back to school tomorrow.

No more meds

I am sick of being sick. I went to see the doctor on Tuesday dealing with allergy problems and she told me to take non-prescription medicine. I didn't make it to work today because of the side of affects of the medicine. I had furiously been drinking water to help the medicine get out of my body.

Tuesday, July 15, 2008

A Healthy Heart

I passed my stress test with flying colors. I had a echo cardiogram done at resting rate and then ran on the treadmill for six minutes and had a second echo cardiogram done to see how my heart reacted. My blood pressure was 122/90 during the testing. It was pretty cool to see pictures of my heart and what it looks like when its beating.

Treadmill fun

I heading off to have a stress test done. Its one of the joys of maturing I guess. After the test I get to eat a late lunch, I am starving. It was hard to be at school and have to get lunch ready for the twenty seven toddlers.

I am hoping for you results. I will keep you posted.

Treadmill fun

Saturday

It was very odd buying Christmas ornaments in July. It was fun finding just the right ornament for everyone in the family.

Were spending the weekend hiding inside with the outside temperature being 102. Thirteen more degrees and we would have the same temperature as Arizona.

Friday

Mark your calendars for July 11th. You can get a free slurpee at 7/11 stores. There's not a lot of things you can get for free any more.

This week has been uneventful compared to last week which is fine with me. I can wait another fifty three years to go to the emergency room again, not to mention its not Bill's favorite place to spend 3 1/2 hours not making the call about what is going on.

I hope everyone is having a blessed week.

Getting better

Thank goodness Bill has the patience of a saint. This has been a strange week after being prescribed an antibiotic that I was allergic to. Now I have been living in and off in a stage of fogginess since given new improved antibiotics that I'm not allergic to. I should have read the drug info closer and I would have better understood things I've been dealing with.

It was great spending the weekend with Trish, Elisha and Zack and Bill.

The 4th of July was nice and relaxing. Good job on the food Trish.

On our way home today we stopped by Camp Classen and got to spend time with Will while his campers we taking a siesta.

Thursday, July 3, 2008

Good as new

It was so much fun going back to work today and having to repeat my story about going to the emergency room.

It was a slow day only 20 toddlers were in attendance instead of the normal 29. The school had their own parade this morning. I'm not too sure how intelligent it was to take toddlers in the parking lot to say the Pledge of Allegiance and Star Spangled Banner. I'm happy to report we didn't have anyone get hit by the incoming cars and no one got lost while having 80 kids file back into the school!

God bless America and Happy 4th of July.

Wednesday, July 2, 2008

What a fun night!

Last night after work I went to Minute Clinic because my sinus infection was lingering. I was given a antibiotic that was the best antibiotic. Little did I know I was allergic to the antibiotic.

I couldn't sleep for more than twenty minutes at a time. I spent a couple of hours pacing around our house feeling like a lobster. Around two a.m. I felt panicky. I woke Bill up and he escorted me to the emergency room where I received a steroid shot in one arm and a benadryl shot in the other arm. I was observed for a couple of hours.

Its really fun to be coming in the door at the point I should have getting ready to go to work. Thank goodness this is a short work week. I have to get my ducks in a row and make it through tomorrow.

June 26

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY MICHELLE AND ADAM

How time flies when you're having fun.

Saturday, June 21, 2008

Saturday

There is going to be a new way of thinking in the toddler room. We are going to look for the positive in every crying, biting, hitting child. I shared with my coworkers that each one of us has been placed on earth by God to do his will. We don't know what the future holds for the 29 toddlers that are in our care.

I wouldn't know what to do without the input and validation of my family. No matter where my husband and children are, it doesn't matter, they carry me through days when people can't see the good in someone else.

I no longer have thoughts of quitting my job because of frustration.

Wednesday, June 18, 2008

People

I am tired of younger teachers at my school who expect every toddler to be a carbon copy of each other. Everyone on this earth has a spirit that we were born with and we need to embrace it and nurture it.

I have never fit in with other people in my life and it continues especially as I try to assist the younger teachers.

I am very thankful that I only work 7 1/2 hours a day.

Saturday, June 14, 2008

Saturday

Patricia, dad and I went to Poor Richards for breakfast. Today will be a two meal day.

Dad has requested homemade chicken and dumplings and Jell-O and a chocolate cake for his Father's day feast.

Please say a prayer for Aunt Evie, Jan and Brain. The floods in Cedar Rapids are horrible. There is no fresh water to drink, the local hospital has been closed and three thousand people have had to be moved. Cedar Rapids will never be the same.

Friday, June 13, 2008

Sick day

I didn't realize that having a sinus infection can make me so sick. I was ready to walk out the door to go to work today at 6:40 this morning but my body didn't agree.

Dad chauffeured me to the doctors office where I was thoroughly checked out. Now I have I have antibiotics to take for a week.

Patricia is on her way home so I know she will keep my mind off of being sick. Anyone else want to come home and keep me busy.

Thank goodness I don't have to get up at 5:30 tomorrow morning. I am looking forward to sleeping in.

June 12th

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU MY SWEET MICHELLE. MY HAVE BLESSED MY LIFE WITH BEING MY FIRST BORN. NO ONE CAN EVER TAKE YOUR PLACE.

Parents

Yesterday we started the summer session at school which means some new students and new parents. Its interesting how some parents hand their child right over to me and tell them that they will have a good time being with Mrs. Deb and then there's the other parents that have to be escorted from the building after half a day because they can't deal with leaving their child.

We are now dealing with a three year old that has been never seen the inside of a school. Grandma and mom have devoted the last three years of their lives to her until the dad demanded she go interact with other children. The grandma and mom had to wean little Miss Ayu off the pacifier and bottle in a matter of 48 hours. Nap time is my favorite time with Ayu when she bellows for 20 minutes. Ayu will survive this time of her life I'm not to sure about her mom.

Not a lot more to tell.

Bill continues to do great recovering from his stroke and I try to do my best to be a supportive caregiver.

June

Its a busy birthday month. Michelle and Uncle Steve on June 12, Gregory on June 19 and Timothy Morrison on June 30.

The church wants Tim to receive lots of birthday cards.

Revelation choir tour is leaving on Wednesday night at 9:00 p.m. and traveling all night long. From numerous conversations not all parents of the involved choir tour kiddos are thrilled with the plan.

Current chaperone's of the Tennessee mission trip are quickly fading away.

Which one of these is not like the other?

Patricia wasn't home for Mother's Day so she decided that we needed to have pedicures done this morning. It was her treat, we had fun sitting side by side being pampered.

New adventures

So many changes in our life. I am being asked by friends what my cool grandma name I will have? I keep explaining that is Michelle and Adam choice and then the baby once he or she communicates.

Today is Will's last day at home before he goes to camp. I am anxiously looking forward to seeing what lies ahead for Will.

Not much going on here. Were trying to stay cool during the 99 degree days. It makes me wonder what the temperatures will be in June and July.

Were doing our best getting back to a normal life after Bill's stroke. He has one more day at the rehab and then adios amigos.

Mother's Day and More

It was so much fun being a mom now I get to be a grandma thanks to Michelle and Adam.
Before Bill, Will, Patricia and I went to church Bill suggested to me that I open the package from Michelle and Adam. To my surprise I found a book titled "Funny You Don't Look Like a Grandma. I immediately put the book in my purse to take to church for bragging rights.

New stuff

Here is the long awaited for living room furniture. Will thought it would be fun to cover me with all five of the pillows that came with the furniture. Will took a nap in MY chair yesterday and Bill took a nap in MY chair today. What's the deal.

Tuesday, May 6, 2008

Tuesday

Were getting our new furniture today. I am so excited. Since Patricia is coming home for Mother's Day I guess she'll be the first one to snuggle with me in my chair and a half.

This is teachers appreciation week. Its so much fun. Yesterday I received thank you notes from the parents of the toddlers. Today breakfast was provided by our wonderful director and bags of Hershey hugs and kisses from various toddlers since its hug and kisses day. It was supposed to be car wash day for all teachers but the thunderstorm delayed that until Thursday.

Last year we all received back masssages I wonder if that will happen this year?

Friday, May 2, 2008

Having fun

Another week of work is over and I'm looking forward to spending the weekend with Bill and Will.

Tomorrow we have exciting plans for family lawn work. I bet Michelle, Tracy and Patricia are sorry they won't be here for the fun. In the evening the three of us are going to a friends house for dinner. They want to caught up on what is going on with Will and see how Bill is recovering since his stroke.

After church on Sunday we are going to remove the old furniture from the living room and prepare the way for our new furniture. I can't wait to see all the treasures that we find under the old furniture.

We are still waiting for the repair parts for the washing machine. Its been three weeks. We are very lucky to have such wonderful neighbors that have offered up their washing machine to us.

Thank you for all your prayers for Bill as well as Elliot. We recieved a call from my mom as well as Barb sharing the good news that the surgery went well and Elliot could be released by tomorrow or Sunday. The hard part is keeping Elliot from doing too much once he's home.

Tuesday, April 29, 2008

Here's the requested photo

This is Hambone the baby bear. He decided to teeth on my fingers. Bill wouldn't let me bring him home. It would have taken care of the empty nest problem! Hambone would have so much fun with Cinder and Moseley and eating the fish out of the three fish tanks we now have thanks to Will.

Thursday, April 24, 2008

Time flies when your having fun

Another week has flown by.

We continue to pray for Bill's recovery and now add on Elliot. On May 1st Elliot will be having a procedure done to remove a tumor from one of his kidneys.

Bill continues to dazzle his therapist and the rest of the group at Pate who have been keeping an eye on him.

I think I need to learn russian. There is a new student at the daycare. Her parents speak nothing but russian and she is slowly learning this odd language called English. I can't imagine what she is going through.

Will is going to be staying with us for a while until he recieves the date for training for his new job at Camp Classen. I'll have two of my four children living in Oklahoma this summer. Now I have to figure out how to get the other two closer.

On April 26th Tracy will be celebrating her 22nd birthday. Hopefully Alex will take care of baking her a cake.

Patricia is singing solos at her concert. I'm sure my eyes will leak a bit when I her sing.

Have a wonderful weekend.

Baby sitting fish

Will made a trip home yesterday and brought his fish tank and fish. We now have three fish tanks running in our house. Will spent the night with us and traded cars with Bill. The back window of Will's Jeep no longer unzips. Will is going to be making a couple more trip from San Marcos to Plano before his lease is up and he starts his new job at Camp Classen. (Thanks for the lead Tracy.)

This morning we spent time with a repairman trying to figure out what is wrong with my washing machine. Did you know that my washing machine has two brains and one is out to lunch. It only cost us more a meer hundred dollars to hear the news and then the repairman didn't have the part so now I am washing our clothes at our neighbors house. Thank goodness for neighbors.

Dad and I are off to Ashley furniture to see what would look good in our living room.

Bill continues to improve quicker than the experts thought and Pate is having a hard time finding things for him to do that's a challenge.

Next Friday Bill, Tripp and I are making our way to Oklahoma to spend the evening with Patricia and hear her sing at a concert. On Saturday (Tracy's birthday) Bill and I are going to beautiful Turner Falls to stay at a Bed and Breakfast. Then on going anniversary celebration.

Monday, April 14, 2008

And they said it wouldn't last

Some people dread April 15th because its tax day. April 15th is one of the most wonderful days in my life. As Elliot walked me down the aisle I kept catching glimpses of Bill standing at the front of the chapel waiting for me. Thoughts were rolling through my mind and I couldn't figure out why would he want to marry me?

The past 30 years have been an amazing. I learned to love myself as much as Bill did from the beginning and every time God entrusted us with three beautiful daughters and a handsome son to raise they also showed me I was worthwhile and I have a purpose on this earth.

I hope and pray that I will be writing on my blog when Bill and I are married 60 years.

To Bill thank you for purposing not once but twice.

I love weekends

It was a treat to be able to sleep past 5:30. Bill and I cooked a big breakfast, ran numerous errands that including going to the post office to mail baby presents to our newest great nephew Tanner Monroe.

We had dinner at Napoli's and went grocery shopping. There must have been a full moon or very oblivious people in the grocery store. I lost count at how many times someone cut in between Bill in the motorized cart and me dealing with a normal grocery cart.

Today was communion Sunday at church, we decided to sit on the first floor instead of having to get downstairs. Bill continues to awe people with how well he is getting around. Last Sunday he was gettting around with a walker and this Sunday a cane.

After church we spent the afternoon in the kitchen making homemade lasagna, onion soup and brownies for the ambulance and EMT crews. We will be dropping by to say thank you for all they did.

I wish I could hug everyone that prayed and continues to pray for Bill and our family.

God is good all the time, all the time God is good.

Friday, April 4, 2008

Friday

Getting Bill around is getting simpler. So long walker, hello cane. I think Bill needs a top hat to carry off the look.

Bill and I thought that we were going to spend part of our weekend cutting the grass but thanks to our neighbors the grass has been cut. Our neighbors are passing themselves off as Lawn Elves. We are so blessed to have such wonderful neighbors.

Tomorrow we are delivering homemade cookies to the firehouses that showed up at our house in three seconds.

Wednesday, April 2, 2008

Going on

Life has not been the same since Bill had his stroke. Everyday has been unbelievable.

Last night Bill and I went out to eat and Bill didn't use his walker. We walked holding hands.

Tomorrow after the family meeting I will have an oppurtunity to see Bill using the treadmill in the heated pool at rehab.

I have always admired Bill since the day we met. I am so blessed to be part of his life and see how God is affecting both of us on a daily basis.

Caring On

It was interesting to see the look on people's face when they saw Bill back at church and our adult Sunday school class. Bill did really well maneuvering around.

Bill spent time in our pool over the weekend enjoying the weightlessness.

Before Bill had a stroke we used to dance in the kitchen. We were able to trip the light fantastic once again without the use of Bill's walker. The little things in life mean a lot.

Bill and I continue to acknowlege the importance of surrounding ourselves with positive attitudes of family and friends that are near and far please don't cease in praying.

Thursday, March 27, 2008

Thursday

Bill is patiently teaching me how to take care of our pool. Its a lot of work for something we use for three months out of the year.

Bill is finding the balance of going to an outpatient rehab all day and instead of having three hours of therapy a day. Our day starts at 5:30 a.m. and we have had plans of retiring at 9:30 p.m. but it hasn't happened yet.

I am keeping my fingers crossed that I don't get sick. The kids at school were dropping left and right. One teacher had the lovely experience of being vomited on. After she got the child taken care of she jumped into the shower at school and put on non-soiled clothes.

I spent my afternoon sanitizing toys hoping to kill the germs. There's never a boring moment in our personal lives or at school.

Freaky

Bill and I made our way to Anna, TX. to find the out patient rehab. Bill had been told to check in at the third building. Well that didn't work out too well. We went into the building and a gentleman approached us. He came across as if he was a doctor or therapist. But no he was a patient who wants to bond with Bill and be in the same groups with him! I felt freaked out leaving Bill in the country not knowing who were the doctors and who were the patients.

Bill is going on a field trip with his new friends tomorrow. I'm so sorry I can't attend.

I'm sure these next six weeks will be interesting and helpful.

Yeah its Tuesday

During my lunch break I ran over to rehab and picked up Bill. I got Bill settled in at home, ran to the pharmacy to get perscritptions filled and returned to work. We went out to dinner at our favorite place we skipped the margaritas not a good thing to try this close after having a stroke. We ran to Home Depot and bought a leather tool belt that is now attached to Bill's walker. He needs a handy way to carry things.

The cats are some what hesitant now that Bill is using a walker. Once Bill wasn't pushing it around the decided to welcome him home.

I am looking forward to driving to the country tomorrow morning and meeting the staff at Pate out patient rehab. I have a feeling by the time Bill gets home tomorrow night he will be exhausted from a full day of therapy. The inpatient rehab could only give him three hours a day.

Please keep Bill in your prayers.

Is it Tuesday yet?

Bill is being released tomorrow. It doesn't seem real, he hasn't been home for 25 days. I've been running around cleaning the house and grocery shopping.

On Wednesday I am escorting Bill to out patient rehab. He will be picked up every morning and brought home every evening after having more therapy.

I feel like a giddy school girl waiting to have Bill back home and trying to get back to a normal life whatever normal is. Our two cats won't have to be moody any more.

Thank you for all of your prayers, support and concerns for Bill and our entire family.

Easter Eve

Today was a interesting day at the rehab. Some of the paitence were hesitant to dye easter eggs as part of their therapy. Once they got involved I could see the inner child coming out and they really enjoyed themselves.

I am counting the days until Bill is home and we can try to get back to somewhat of a normal life.
Bill is being released from the local rehab on Tuesday afternoon and will be attending occupational rehab at a outpatient facility on Wednesday morning.

Happy Easter.

Praise God

I can hardly believe that Bill is coming home next week. I don't know if the cats will be happy. Once Bill is home they will loose their spot in bed with me. Bill isn't too fond of snuggling with them.

This Friday I am meeting with the therapists who have been working with Bill to understand how to help Bill once he is home and safety precausions. Bill is looking forward to his field trip to the parking lot at the rehab to practice getting in and out of my Volkswagen.

Thank you for all of your prayers.

Tuesday

Today is assesment day. Bill is anxiously waiting for a glimpse of what the future holds for him. Bill, Patricia and the rest of the world will know what is in store for the patient in room 276 hours before me. I will have to drive across town after work to see what color the star on Bill's door is and by chance look to see if there is a release date on his white board.

I don't want to get on a roller coaster of emotions because its not a perferred place to be. Everyone I've spoken to tells me to keep it "NORMAL" I don't know if I remember what the definition of the word is.

Trust

I don't know why dad isn't sharing with everyone that he caught me off balance while showing me how to use the safety belt and I fell on the floor of his hospital room. I laid on the floor laughing. Dad thought I was injured. Our favorite nurse went by and asked me if I had fallen and I said no.

I kept getting strange looks from the nurse when she was making her rounds.

If we can't have some fun during all this than forgot it.

When dad comes home I show him who is in charge with the belt.

Having fun

My mother told me tonight that some people are born and die and they never know their purpose on earth. My mom said its evident to her that I know my purpose.

One of the OT's and social worker are allowing me to help plans activites at the rehab and share the joy of having to be at rehab.

Since the John Wayne movie marathon wasn't a hit the social worker and I decided on showing Nemo this week. Maybe there will be more than Bill and I watching the movie. I'm not complaining about our date night.

Next Friday or Saturday Patricia, Tripp and I are going to help the patients at the rehab dye eggs for Easter. It is going to be utilized at the patients therapy session.

When the day comes that Bill is allowed to escape the rehab I want to leave a lasting memory.

An update

Where do I begin?

This has been a week part of me never wants to relive and part of me is extremely thank you for what we have made it through. I know we've all been told to never take a loved one for granted. I strongly agree.

Every day since Bill's stroke has brought something new to our lives. We never know what God's plans are you us this has caused us to focus on what is really important and how we can do God's work. We know that God is always there for us, its become very apparent that Bill was being held in God's hands.

Tuesday Bill is having an assesment done. Everyone that has worked with Bill in rehab will be gathering to figure out what awaits Bill in the future and when he will be able to escape rehab.

It was odd to be at church on Sunday without Bill. I had Patricia to lean on. I yearned to be in my Father's house.
